CHRISTOPHER J. JOHNSON, born Des Plaines, Illinois, is a Shareholder in the firm and represents and advises clients in all areas of labor and employment law, with a particular focus in the health care, manufacturing, financial, retail, transportation and service industries. Chris also represents clients in all aspects of civil and commercial litigation, with an emphasis on labor and employment cases, as well as insurance coverage and business disputes.
Chris consults clients regarding the full spectrum of labor and employment matters, including issues arising under the ADA, ADEA, Title VII, FMLA, FLSA, ERISA, NLRA, OSHA, FRCRA, WFEA, to name but a few. He has extensive experience in matters of employment investigations, discipline, hiring and firing, performance, accommodations, leave and benefit issues and drafting and administering the policies and procedures necessary to address those laws and issues. Chris has successfully defended clients in dozens of federal and state claims alleging employment discrimination and in hundreds of cases before the EEOC, the Wisconsin Equal Rights Division and similar state and local administrative agencies and before the NLRB, DOL, OSHA, USCIS and the FHA.
Chris has extensive experience in complex civil and commercial litigation in state and federal courts. In addition to labor and employment cases, he concentrates his litigation practice on non-compete and other restrictive covenants, breach of contract, business disputes and insurance disputes, ranging from coverage matters to bad faith claims.
