Chris is licensed to practice law in both Wisconsin and Iowa and has been practicing in the field of subrogation his entire legal career. His focus is on all types of subrogation claims, particularly those necessitating detailed and highly technical investigations, including fire and explosion claims, large and catastrophic losses, water losses, product failures, and arbitrations. Prior to joining the firm as a shareholder, Chris was an attorney at two Midwest law firms handling subrogation matters. He has also worked as a subrogation adjuster at Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company in Des Moines, Iowa.
Chris earned dual degrees in Classics and Political Science from Truman State University in 2005. In 2010, he graduated from Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. During law school he served as the Research Editor on the Drake Law Review. In the Spring 2010, the Iowa Supreme Court awarded him first place in the Iowa Supreme Court Writing Competition.
Chris has been an active member of the National Association of Subrogation Professionals (NASP) since 2011 and serves on its Amicus Committee as a brief writer. From 2015-2017 he served as Co-Chair of the Iowa Chapter of NASP; in 2016 the Iowa Chapter received the Chapter of the Year Award. Chris has presented before various professional associations, including NASP national and state conferences, the Wisconsin Fire Loss Association, and the Wisconsin Claims Council. His writing has been published in the Drake Law Review and the Iowa Lawyer.
While not originally from Wisconsin, Chris is happy raising his family here and considers himself a true Wisconsinite. He enjoys spending his time with his wife and three young children. He can also be found watching European Soccer early on weekend mornings, cheering on his favorite hockey team, the St. Louis Blues, and running.
